QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER

Employment status: full-time / 40 hours per week

As a Quality Control Engineer, you are responsible for conducting inspections and checks to ensure that all work and materials meet the required quality standards and specifications for new construction and rental projects.

The workday may involve checking production processes at suppliers and visually inspecting construction materials. You support the evaluation and approval of documentation – ITPs, traceability processes, as-built documentation. You are assertive and possess strong communication skills. You closely collaborate with the HSSEQ Manager, HSSE Engineer, and supervisors of relevant departments.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Conducting visual inspections of construction activities and materials according to established procedures and specifications at locations and work sites, supporting the project in defining inspection strategy during offshore operations;
  • Testing materials and components for quality and durability;
  • Checking welds and other construction details for compliance with technical drawings and specifications;
  • Supporting the review and approval of documentation – ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), traceability processes, as-built documentation, etc;
  • Providing QC functional support to the business in tender stages and projects, including monitoring costs;
  • Documenting inspection results and preparing inspection reports;
  • Reporting non-conformities to relevant parties, investigating, assessing, following up, and contributing to finding solutions. Recording (timely and complete) takes place in the ERP system/quality management system;
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure quality standards are adhered to and project objectives are achieved;
  • Serving as a point of contact for customers and colleagues with quality-related questions about the project;
  • Conducting supplier evaluations and supporting the audit/assessment program.

WE ASK

You are capable of working multidisciplinary and don’t adhere strictly to a 9-to-5 mentality. You are proactive, and with your hands-on mentality, you ensure that things get done. Additionally, you possess:

  • HBO level of education, Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar, with an affinity for construction technology, mechanical engineering, and offshore;
  • An accredited study or certification in the field of quality control and inspection techniques;
  • Work experience (minimum 2-3 years) in a similar quality role in (offshore) construction;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Strong passion for quality and “First Time Right” approach;
  • Proactive and self-starting mentality;
  • Proficiency in Dutch, English languages, both written and verbal;
  • Experience writing project qualification documentation and reports in English in a clear and coherent manner;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • VCA-VOL certification.
