Business Unit Director Wind

📍 Location: Beilen, the Netherlands (internationally oriented) | Full-time | Strategic Executive Level

Do you want to build a business unit with global impact in offshore wind?

As the Business Unit Director Wind, you hold ultimate responsibility for establishing, managing, and further developing our Wind Business Unit. Operating at a strategic level, you report directly to the CEO and contribute to the overall direction of the organization. You translate international market opportunities into concrete strategies, lead multidisciplinary teams, and ensure optimal operational execution.

You will work in a highly international environment with clients, partners, and projects across the globe. This requires flexibility, cultural sensitivity, and a willingness to travel frequently and operate outside regular office hours, depending on time zones and project phases. In the future, your base location or operational areas may also (partially) shift to other locations.

You will focus on performance, safety, and innovation—with the ultimate goal of driving growth and impact in the rapidly expanding offshore wind industry.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Unit Director develops and executes strategic (sales) plans, manages teams, and ensures smooth execution of long-term, complex projects. You will also maintain relationships with strategic clients and agents, while optimizing operational processes within the unit. You will collaborate closely with the Business Unit Director Coastal, Oil and Gas, as well as managers in engineering, supply chain, and fleet operations. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic business and sales plans for global growth;
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team across sales, projects, and operations;
  • Achieving ambitious revenue, margin, and efficiency targets;
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with key clients, agents, and stakeholders;
  • Optimizing processes and integrating and ensuring quality and safety standards (HSSEQ);
  • Managing complex international projects and related contracts.

WE OFFER

A unique opportunity to make a real impact within an innovative, growing organization with global projects.

We offer a competitive salary, holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, and participation in a favorable pension scheme. Additional attractive employment benefits will be discussed in a personal conversation.
And don’t forget—you’ll join a dynamic and close-knit team where everyone contributes and is uniquely #CAPEABLE. You’ll receive a warm welcome and quickly feel at home. We also look forward to seeing you at team events and Friday drinks.

WE ASK

You are a decisive leader with vision. You know how to inspire people, spot opportunities, and convert them into sustainable growth. You are solution-oriented, base decisions on data and intuition, and believe in the power of collaboration. You also have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in (technical) business administration, mechanical engineering, or a similar field;
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in the offshore, wind, or maritime sector;
  • Proven experience in project management, contract management, and operational optimization;
  • Strong strategic and commercial instincts, combined with a hands-on mentality;
  • Solid understanding of the offshore wind market and international regulations;
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English (German is a plus);
  • Willingness to travel throughout Europe and internationally, and to work flexible hours.
