4 PRE-PILED JACKET PILES WITH POSITIONING TEMPLATE

In April – May 2023, CAPE Holland equipment was used to install four 84 inch pre-piled jacket piles. What makes this project special is that thanks to utilising the CAPE VLT, the pre-piling template did not need to support the piles and could therefore be a simple single layer positioning template.

The CAPE VLT-320 was used to upend the piles directly from a supply vessel and drove them straight through the positioning template on the seabed. Verticality was controlled by moving the CAPE VLT-320 with the crane hook whilst vibrating.

After having installed all four piles to the required depth, a hydraulic impact hammer (also supplied and operated by CAPE Holland) was used to drive the piles to final penetration.
